Conversamos con Eduardo Gr\u00fcner y Fernando Alf\u00f3n sobre el libro La raz\u00f3n del estilo. Ensayos anglosajones sobre el ensayismo<\/em>. <\/span><\/p>

Como dice Alf\u00f3n, la escritura de ensayos en el mundo anglosaj\u00f3n desarroll\u00f3 caracter\u00edsticas propias que contribuyeron a la forma de la lengua inglesa tal como nos llega hoy. La iron\u00eda, la rapidez, la brevedad; los art\u00edculos de The Tatler<\/em> y The Spector<\/em> lograban entretener a los lectores del diario con ardides y buenos ganchos, y al mismo tiempo abordar temas de largo aliento. Tal es la exigencia estil\u00edsitica de este g\u00e9nero revirado que muchxs se agarraron de la misma escritura para pensar su pr\u00e1ctica. C\u00f3mo sacar el mejor provecho a una p\u00e1gina. \u00bfEs un art\u00edculo largo mejor literatura que unos pocos caracteres? “La raz\u00f3n del estilo” re\u00fane los ensayos m\u00e1s destacables y forma una antolog\u00eda que logra mapear un acontecimiento clave en la literatura inglesa: la escritura ensay\u00edstica, que se entren\u00f3 en la cantera de la prensa de los siglos XVIII, XIX y XX. En esta charla Alf\u00f3n y Gr\u00fcner, dos ensayistas argentinos, dan cuenta de ese acontencimiento remando aguas arriba: la incidencia de la filosof\u00eda empirista, la apropiaci\u00f3n de Montaigne por parte de lxs inglesxs, los intentos del positivismo de conjurar el ensayo, la diferencia con la tradici\u00f3n alemana, la recepci\u00f3n en Argentina de tres corrientes: la francesa, alemana e inglesa.
